Vacations!!

Wow, it has been a very long time. We actually just got back from our last official vacation of the summer. I tell you, Ayden had it really good this year and I guess so did Bob and I. 2 weeks ago, we got a house in Ocean City with Bob's family. The weather was perfect everyday, so of course we went to the beach everyday. Ayden absolutely loved it. He is so fearless it is scary and he will just run into the ocean and not have a care in the world. The one thing he was not fearless about though were rides. Leah and I tried to take him on some rides, and the first one spun, went up and down, and he absolutely freaked out. We had to stop the ride because he was so upset. It was horrible. So, the only thing he would really go on was the merry-go-round. Well, we will have to work on that every year, because I want him to go on the rides with me.
It is so fun to watch him on the beach. This kid is such a delegator. He would hand everyone shovels and say dig, dig. Once everyone was digging, he would watch and smile.

We just got home from our second vacation. We went to the Outer Banks with 24 other people and we stayed in a 12 bedroom house in Corrolla. It was so much fun. The house was absolutely amazing as you can imagine. You had to drive 10 miles on the beach to get to our house. It had a theatre room with 12 huge reclining chairs, huge bar/basement with pool table, fooz ball (sp) and that bar game that has photo hunt. There was a pool and a jacuzzi as well. It was awesome. We pretty much went to the beach everyday because it kept the kids occupied and happy and in the pool/jacuzzi later. We had so much fun with everyone and I would love to do that again. Oh yeah, and all of the guys got Mohawks. It was really funny and I loved it on Bob.

I wanted to post some pics of the growing man because I haven't posted in forever.

Here are some pics from Ocean City. Here is Ayden in his cool glasses.

Oops!

Sorry it has been so long since I posted. Oops! Well, things have been going really well here. I am done the busy work season, so this summer is looking really good to me now. I cannot wait to start taking my vacation time. Ayden has been doing great, growing into a young man right before our eyes. I think I forget to mention this before, but we actually started Ayden in a daycare. He has been doing really well there and he loves playing with all of the kids. Oh..and guess what! Since he has been there, he has been sleeping through the night...finally!
Here is a pic of Ayden and Tyler playing in the car.

Ayden and Mommy before the Phillies game on Mothers Day!!
This past weekend, we went to the beach. Bob surf fished and Ayden and I hung out. Today, it was really nice there and he enjoyed it. Whenever he sees water, whether it is in a cup, a dog bowl, or ocean, he says wawa, wawa! He really tries to say water, but it comes out like that, it is really funny. He says a bunch of words now or at least tries. I know I won’t remember them all, but I will try:
Plane (pane)
Bird
Rock
Teeth
Ear
Eye
Duck
Lion (yayon)
Buck
Bird
Cookie
Cracker
Koda (he still calls the dogs dada most of the time, but has said koda more often)
Belly
Bobby (he hears everyone call his Dad Bobby, so he does it too) Here is a video of it.

Ayden really had fun with this meal. I just gave him a bath right before this and I didn't want him to get food all over him. So, I tried to feed him and he was not having that. He had to have the fork and do it himself, and look where it got him! So cute!

Ayden at the beach! Little chilly this day, very windy.

Fun in the Sun

I wanted to post some pics and videos from that beautiful weekend we had before the rain engulfed us the past week or so. Ayden is obsessed with being outside so whenever it is the least bit nice, he needs to be out there. Which works for Bob and I because we love being outside. Ayden got to go in his little pool which he loved, but more importantly he really loved the hose. Bob just started off spraying the hose around Ayden and then he kept running through it and laughing. After a while, our dog Koda jumped in the fun and went crazy. It was really funny to watch.

Here is a video Ayden dancing in Daddy’s shoes. Ayden now tries to put on other peoples shoes and walk in them. He doesn’t get very far, but at least he tries. It is funny to see him dance too, because he bounces up and down.

Ayden at the Zoo

Hey everyone! Here are a few things that have been going on in our household.
On a sad note, Bob and I recently were at my granny’s (dad’s mom) funeral. I just wanted to mention a couple things about my granny. She was such an amazing person; she always had these funny one liners, she was so caring, extremely thoughtful, and she was always a giver (I guess that is where my dad gets it from). Granny was on dialysis for over 20 some years and a few weeks ago, decided she has had enough. She has lived an eventful life and she will be missed by everyone. May she rest in peace and know that we love her.

On a happier note, Ayden has been at the zoo a few times this past week. He went for the first time last Monday in which he went with Mimi and Pop Pop (Bob’s parents). They said he had a great time and really loved the giraffes and the choo choo train. Here are some pics.

Then this past Saturday, he went to the zoo again with Bob and I and we also went with Kevin Parks, Erin and Tyler. It was such a nice day, but the zoo was packed. We still had a great time. The kids were totally worn out once we left.

To complete our weekend on Sunday, we took Ayden to his first baseball game to see the Phillies. Bob and I got season tickets for every Sunday home game. Ayden actually sat with us in our seats for 7 ½ innings. He did really well. He sure did eat a lot which kept him occupied, but he loved it. Everytime we cheered, we would clap his hands and get very excited. He of course said hi to everyone around us about 20 times each person. It was a great day.

Birthday Party

So we had Ayden's Birthday Party over the weekend, and it was REALLY fun. He had such a good time with all our family and friends, and of course all of the new TOYS and gifts that everyone was so generous in giving. We gave him his own HUGE cupcake to go at it, and he barely tried to eat any of it, but sure did get dirty. It was really cute. Here are some pics from the party.

Ayden's One!!!

I cannot believe Ayden is one year old today! It has been such a great year, and he is just so amazing. We are so lucky to have him in our lives and it is such a joy to see him grow up. (just too fast for my liking). So, for Ayden's birthday today, Bob and I both took off work and went to the aquarium. It was very special because Ayden was able to spend his birthday with my mom, Bob's mom, Bob's sister, our friend Abby and her daughter Cadence and son Jack. We had such a good time and the kids seemed to really like everything that was going on. We especially liked the shark tunnel.
When we got home, we all had dinner and Ayden played with some new birthday presents. He really loves new toys. Ayden and I made cupcakes last night, so we sang Happy Birthday and he was able to eat his first cupcake....well I guess not eat, just smash.

I also wanted to play this little game with Ayden that someone told me about for his 1st Birthday. You are supposed to put out a book, a dollar bill and a cup. Once that is all set up, you are supposed to put Ayden in front of them and see what he picks. If he picks the book, he is supposed to be smart when he grows up. If he picks the dollar bill, he is supposed to make a lot of money when he grows up. And, if he picks the cup.....he is supposed to be a drinker. I was a little nervous to see what he would pick because he just LOVES cups. So, we had Ayden face the the items and he goes right for the book. YEAH!!!! After he had the book in his hand, he dropped it, picked up the cup and took a sip. He then dropped the cup and took the money and walked away with the money. I am not sure what that is supposed to mean, but it was so funny.

Well, here are some pics of our fun day.
Here is Ayden enjoying the scenery at the Aquarium

Isn't he a cutie!

Here is Ayden and Cadence...isn't Cadence beautiful!

Here is Aunt Leah with Ayden seeing if he will pet the sharks!!! I couldn't do it.

How cute are they?

Here he is kissing himself through the glass. LOL

Right before we were going to sing happy birthday.
For the past month or so, we would always say to Ayden, How old are you going to be? He would stick out his ONE finger and smile. All day today, I was trying to get a picture of him doing this and had a difficult time. Here is my best shot.

This is a long video, but this is us singing Happy Birthday and Ayden eating his cupcake, kind of.

First Haircut

Ayden’s hair was getting pretty long and I was trying to hold out cutting it as long as I could before his birthday. So, on Saturday Bob and I took Ayden to a kids hair cut place. He sat in this little yellow sports car and was very good while the lady cut his hair. He reached up a couple of times to get her hands away from his head, but there were no complaints and he did a great job. It took less than 5 minutes to get the job done, but WHAT a DIFFERENCE. He looks so cute. They gave us a certificate for Ayden’s first haircut and also gave us some of his LONG hair to keep for his baby book.

There are a couple new things that Ayden is doing now. Besides walking all over the place, he loves to say hi to everyone. Whenever we go out anywhere, he picks up his hand to wave and says “Hi”. It is so cute. We were in the grocery store yesterday and Ayden just sat in the cart and basically waved his little hand up and down the whole time. As soon as someone came near him, he would say HI, really loud. Big crowd pleaser as he made many new friends. At least it kept him occupied and allowed mommy to shop.
Ayden also started shaking hands. When I came home from work the other day, Bob called him over and said “Ayden, can you shake my hand?” He reached out his hand to Bob’s, shook it up and down, and laughed. I love this kid!
Here are some new words Ayden is saying:
Deer (every time he looks out our window, he points and says deer…most of the time they are there)
Dirty (he will usually say this when he sees the dogs toys)
Stinky (so funny to hear him say this – he will say this to people’s feet and shoes lying around)
Turkey (he has a toy food set with a microwave at Bob’s parents house …if you ask him, he will put the turkey in the microwave to cook and then take it out and eat it. He will then give it to you to eat as well.)

He definitely is getting to the stage where he really tries to say what you are saying. It may not come out the same way, but at least he is trying.
Here are some new pics of Ayden:

Smile for the camera
After his Haircut...isn't he so handsome!

Almost A Year Old!!!

I cannot believe Ayden is almost a year old already. Time really does fly. It has been such an amazing year with him in our lives. I don't want him to grow up yet and get into his "toddler years", because I am enjoying every minute of the sweet innocent Ayden.
As we get ready for his birthday, and I now know how to get videos up on my computer, I went a little crazy with the videos this time. I just wanted everyone to see some of the funny things he does. At least, I think they are funny!
About a month ago, Ayden started giving kisses whenever you ask him. I think it is so hilarious to see his wide open mouth smiling whenever he does this.
Here is Ayden with his best bud Koda. He always tries to pull his tail and ride him like a horse. Check it out!
Ayden with the phone again! This kid is loving the fact that he is walking because he is walking everywhere.
I also just wanted to show you a video of Ayden's crawl. He still crawls occasionally and he has such a funny crawl I had to put it on the blog.

Video of Ayden Walking.

I finally figured out how to get videos online. Probably because we bought a new computer and everything is so much easier. I hope you all enjoy. Excuse my squeaky horrible voice in this video and any future one I add.

Ayden's Walking!!

It has been a big couple weeks for Ayden. Just this week, he started walking. He took a few steps around and it went from there. I actually didn't get to see him do it until this weekend. He walked at Bob's parents house and every time I came home from work he was to tired to show off. He is so proud of himself when he does walk though... I love it! He still does his crazy crawl around the house and will stand and walk when he is comfortable enough. Ayden also got to play in the snow from our snow storm. I bundled him up so good, he looked like the kid in Christmas story because he couldn't really move. We played outside for a little bit and then he fell over and got snow all in his face. He didn't seem to care, but we went inside after that.
Since we have been having crazy weather, this weekend it was really nice. So, it was great to get outside and have Ayden play around in the yard after all the snow melted. He really loves to be outside. Bob gave him a ride around the yard on his quad. After they drove around a little bit, Bob stopped to let him off and Ayden started jumping up and down trying to get his Daddy to do it again. Bob started it up again and drove around a little more. He really liked it and he would wave when he saw me...so cute.
Here are some pictures from the last couple weeks.
